Martian Manipulator
Your official job: lead the Mars colony, keep the station running, and make sure no one dies.
Your unofficial job: kill all citizens.
Sounds are very broken in the web build and performance may be limited. For the best experience please download the full game.
In Martian Manipulator you must use your authority as leader to trick people into helping you wipe out the population. On top of taking care of things yourself, you can mind control people into killing, building dangerous structures, and going places that might get them into trouble.
NPCs are smart. They will try to figure out who the killer is, and they don't wait for proof to handle it themselves. NPCs are flawed and will act based on their own biases. They have emotions, suspicions, and reputations that will influence their actions. This results in emergent gameplay where the whole colony can break out into a brawl based on a false accusation or a mind-controlled killer.

Abilities:
- Killing: Exactly what it says. Don’t get caught.
- Building/Repairing: Place structures as part of quests to build trust, or place them as traps. After placing them, you must direct an NPC to build it either through mind control or, if they trust you, selection and direction.
- Breaking: Destroys structures. When used on an oxygen tank or reactor, expect an explosion.
- Mind control: Make your citizens do any of the above actions for you. They get blamed for it.
- Mind reading: Hover over an NPC while holding R. Allows you to see how they feel about other people.
Npcs:
Emotions:
![]() | Happy | Love of someone increased, caused by doing quests |
![]() | Angry | About to kill someone |
![]() | Scared | Will run |
![]() | Suspicious | Trust of someone decreased, caused by being caught near a body |
![]() | Witness | Spotted someone killing, trust decreases significantly |
![]() | Quest | Has a quest available, complete it to increase love |
Behavior:
NPC actions are influenced by their suspicion of someone and how much they like them. For example, if two NPCs like each other and one of them gets caught killing someone, the other will be more likely to let it go. However, someone who is neutral towards that person will kill them, causing the person who likes them to get angry and kill the neutral person. You can use this to your advantage to start fights or get people to defend you.
Classes:
![]() | Civilian | Default, lots of them |
![]() | Officer | Uses a gun instead of a knife, quick to shoot |
![]() | Scientist | Builds things faster |
Classes will stick together and start with high love between each other
